Labels have appropriate softness or hardness of scratch and scratch cleanly when a coin is used.

Finger Scratch Test – clean and easy scratch with fingernail
Labels have appropriate softness or hardness of scratch and scratch cleanly when a fingernail is used.

Wipe Test – no unwanted scratching
No unwanted scratching occurs when standard cards are wiped across labels.

Smear Test – no label smearing from end-user
UV coating is applied correctly to protect against any label smearing when rubbed with finger.

Rub Test – no label smearing from production
Labels do not smear when standard card is rubbed over surface 50 times at 2 lbs. pressure by machine. This protects against smearing when cards are rubbed against each other during production.

Opacity Test – highest security
All layers of ink are present and no light penetrates label at any area when tested with class III laser.

Application Test – no broken labels
Labels can be removed easily from liner by an employee without breaking at security die cuts.

Die cuts (security slits) do not penetrate the liner, creating weak spots.

Oven Test – long product shelf-life
Labels scratch appropriately when aged in oven equivalent of 3 days, 6 months and "indefinitely".

Labels are run on rewind machines and viewed against a strobe light to ensure all labels are centered and have crisp top copy, and that there are no missing labels.
